Honour

This section is for those who wish to know a little more about the rules. The thieves guild has a long and fine history of helping its guild members out when they're in trouble with other PKs.

The more observant among you may have noticed that a new poster has been put up in the guild covering the old new poster that had the rules of the guild on it.

This new poster reads:

"There is honour among Thieves, we are renown for being close.

Two pieces of advice that you might find useful would be:

1. Respect your fellow Thieves.
2. Do not bring heat down onto the Guild.

Look after the Guild, and the Guild will look after you; show it disrespect and it's your funeral.

No non-Thieves allowed beyond this point."

These are the new 'rules' of the guild and have been changed to reflect the changes that have happened to our guild, the disc as a whole and peoples' approaches to their characters.

The first piece of advice encompasses the previous rules. Stealing from and killing fellow Thieves is still unacceptable as these are disrespectful activities. At enforcer and monitor discretion any other disrespect may be punishable, including (but not limited to) threats, insults, ridicule and deliberately misleading information.

The second piece of advice is less concrete and is aimed more at our conduct towards non thieves. Examples of behaviour that would be unwise would be opportunist corpse-looting, snatching and logging out, or any other actions that would either put younger thieves at risk of retaliation or any activities that would damage the reputation of the Thieves' Guild as a pillar of legal Morporkian society.

As mentioned, the Monitors and Enforcers will use a degree of discretion in ensuring that these norms of our society aren't being broken and noting when they are, you would be well advised to heed any warnings given whether PK or NPK before action is deemed necessary.

If you have any problems or feel that any thief is failing to abide by this code of conduct then please feel free to get in touch with any members of the current Guild Admin team (see the 'contacts' link to the left). If we are not online you can always mail us.

Lastly, with the co-operation of the members of the guild in letting the guild admin know, the Thief only area of the guild will be enforced as such from now on. The entire guild will also be a safe area for Thieves, if I hear of any Thieves killed on guild property I shall be most upset. Note, this is not a licence for Thieves to hide in the guild and insult big PK's, or to snatch and run to the guild. Actions like these would be considered as bringing heat down on the guild.

May we suggest 'The Temporary Sign' pub as an alternative point of contact with Thieves for non-thieves those of a nervous disposition.
