Main Introduction Area

Welcome to the new and improved Discworld Thieves' Guild Website. This website was created by the Monitors and Officials of the Thieves Guild in an attempt to provide information for thieves, new and old alike. We hope you enjoy your visit to the site and welcome any feedback that will help us make the site better or provide more information for the Thieves' Guild members.

The People

Let's see, when we started this website, or Cold did I should say, there was Cold, Xythenium, myself, and Dantheman involved. Carino got roped into it rather quickly and Serenity (who appears to have disappeared due to real life stuff) was informed about it, but before he could do much he sort of went away for a bit. It was something Cold thought would be of benefit for all the Guild members and contains links to other thieves' web pages as well as armour, weapon, items, magic, maps, and faith. Hopefully you will all enjoy it and come back to see what's new once in a while.

Diary of a Frustrated Web Page Builder

2002/09/13: The mail comes......Cold wants us to work on a web page for the Thieves Guild. All of the Monitors and guild officials have been pressed into service to get this site done!

Several moths during which Cold is offline and the rest of us conveniently forget the assignment he left for us in the joys of playing Discworld and not stressing over a website.

Uh oh, he's back online and he's wanting us to get the website done! Unfortunately, Yahoo doesn't want to cooperate with any of us but him and this is causing a slight delay in getting things up and running.

2003/02/10: Still can't get into the website and Cold is nagging us to work on it. He's set a deadline for this weekend for us to get this site up and running but he's the only one that can actually get into the Yahell file manager to do anything. I just know we're not gonna make the deadline and fear the wrath of the boss if we don't.

2003/02/11: After spending three days trying to get into Yahell, I finally made it into the file manager from hell to begin working on the pages. Carino still hasn't managed to get in and says he is mailing Cold the files but as of yet, no ones seen anything from him. Dan's been his usual offline self and I seriously doubt we'll get any work out of him. I haven't seen Xythenium in days and don't know if he's given up on this project or the boss has scared him off for good.

2003/02/12 : Cold, the slave driver has made his guild officials work on the web pages for a couple days now and we're tired and making mistakes left and right. He stands over us with a whip and makes us slave away, trying to get the website up and running by this weekend. While other thieves are out happily stealing everyone and everything blind, the Monitors and others have been made to stay inside and work their fingers to the bone getting things ready for the grand opening of the DW Thieves Guild Pages. After uploading some pages, I ask him to take a look at it and am immediately reduced to tears as he gives me a list of things to fix. Why am I even doing this, I think to myself, I could be out stealing and getting xp instead of slaving away on a website." It's for the good of the thieves on DW" I'm told and made to do more work.

Hah!! I got the slave driver back :P Let's see what the thieves think of him, is he a slave driver or is he just fluffy :) I think I'll go hide in my office for a few days where I know he can't get to me :P

2003/02/13: Woohoo!!!! No working on the site today, too busy trying to stay alive and keep hidden from the boss, who is making veiled threats on the Thieves Channel about the election going right :)

2003/02/14: Happy Valentines Day! Gnah, feel like crap, attempted to add to this page and a couple others, wasn't pleased with the results and threw them in the trash before Cold could tear them apart piece by piece. I'll have to try again tomorrow, if I can be bothered to stop killing things in CWC and making xp and money :) Now you know why this website is taking so long to get up and running :P Too many numberchasers working on their stats and skills instead of the webpage.

2003/02/15: Gnah, work stinks, and I refuse to work on the website today, it's more fun to womble around CWC killing things and it's a much needed break from real life and working on web pages that don't turn out right the first time. Will try to do more tomorrow, if I can avoid the boss yelling at me. (just teasing Cold, you never yell, just glare a lot :P )

2007/12/06: Howdy! People still update this site. Especially recently. A little sad that it stagnated for 4 years, but thankfully most of the information stayed recent. Props to Deb, who worked on this site recently and overhauled a few pages. Myself, I'm Sprynx, former Monitor of Prowlers. I updated a tad here and there. Today I included some new stuff submitted by Asha. We're still here!

2009/01/21: Out of sheer boredom, I updated a few more mouldy, dog eared pages and redid the newbie page. ~ Deb

2009/05/01: Moved the entire site to be hosting on Drakkos' webspace due to geocities closing down. Bonus: no more ads. ~Asha
